Hand Catching Fireworks

2012, HD video, 0'37" looped

A disembodied hand clutches at incendiary roman candle balls propelled at it. Like Serra's Hand Catching Lead, the cryptic goal is met with mixed success. Fireworks are intended to be jubilant but fleeting. Any attempt to seize and hold the moment is somewhat perilous because, as it turns out, fireworks will burn right through a leather glove instantaneously.
